EML50 series ![]() |
These single turn transducers have very high sealing upto IP67 and provide an analog signal (4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V) proportional shaft position. The measuring range can be a 0-90 deg, 0-180 deg, 0-270 deg or 0-360 deg. Unlike many potentiomneters, these are mechanically stopless and cannot be damaged by rotation over 360 degrees. They are based on an absolute encoder rather than a potentiometer so life is limited only by bearing life. Accuracy is upto 12 bits. |

EAM36 series |
The EAM36 is a very compact multiturn encoder (36mm dia) using an innovative self powered Energy Harvesting Technology, based on the Wiegand System so gears and batteries are not required. Single turn resolution is 12 bit (4096) and number of turns resolution is 39 bit. Encoder sealing is IP65 and output is SSI (serial) for easy connection. Working temperature is upto 85 C. |

This incremental hollow shaft encoder is designed for rugged applications such as wind turbines, cranes and paper mills. It has insulated bearings to avoid induced voltages damaging inernal circuitry and an extended working temperature opf 85 C. IP67 sealing is available. |

An encoder is a rotational transducer that converts angular movement into digital pulses. They use a radially graduated optical disk with an infra red transmitter one side and an optical receiver the other side. When the shaft is rotated, the light beam is interrupted and electronic pulses are produced. The pulses can be used to measure position, speed, acceleration and direction of rotation. | ||

The Eltra range consists of over 60 models of differing sizes, depending on the mechanical mounting required. Incremental encoders with upto 10000 pulses per rev and absolute encoders of upto 12 bit resolution are available. Rectilinear encoders and potentiometric position sensors are also available. Output styles can be NPN open collector, PNP, push-pull and line driver. Power supplies range from 5V to 28V. This makes it difficult to stock these products. | ||

Some encoders are available with special variants. These are indicated by the 3 digit code on the end of the part number and have often been made for a specific machine manufacturer. The nature of the vaiant may be a special shaft or non standard electrical connectors. | ||

When an encoder on a machine is damaged, the cost of lost production time can be very high. We usually have shipments arriving every 3-4 weeks. To assist with breakdowns, ELTRA have an express encoder replacement service (at extra cost). Using this service, they can usually manufacture the encoder in 48 hours (not inc. weekends or public holidays) and ship it on a fast air freight.
